London: Methuen & Co. 1913, 1913 Red Cloth. Good. First Edition. 8vo. 316 pages plus 30-page catalogue dated July 1912. The upper and lower covers are lightly soiled and spotted, but not very noticeably. Inside, the textblock is clean and unshaken, the hinges are uncracked. A very decent copy of a rare collection of short stories by the author of "The Beetle." At least one story is apparently fantastical -- "The Touchstone of Fortune" is about "a man, who having by a misadventure killed his friend, turned him into gold." Not listed in Bleiler.. 8vo. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good.

The contents are entirely complete with no inscriptions or stamps. Publisher's catalogue to the rear dated Spring 1914. Complete with the rare original dustwrapper which has only minor nicks to the spine tips and some rubbing and darkening of the spine. The reverse shows remnants of old paper to the spine tips.
