(1), viii, (2), 445, (1) pp. Contemporary tree calf with inner and outer dentelles, marbled endpapers, gilt edges and spine with five bands. Gilt shield on covers. Wear to head with 1/4" nick and 3/8" nick to tail joint of spine. 2" x 1/4" gouge to middle of lower cover joint previously repaired with 3" of gilt dentelle missing. Spottswoode & C. Binders embossed to verso of free endpaper. Probable prize bookplate (3"x4") removed from paste-down endpaper. Text block tight and unmarked.
