Green cloth with gilt spine titling, author's facsimile signature blind-stamped on upper board. Off-white jacket with charcoal drawing. Jacket is discolored with moderate edgewear, tape residue on front pastedown, as though a news clipping had been attached. Boards have faint stain and sunning. Plain Song is Harrison's first collection of poetry, his first published work in book form. Front flap is clipped at bottom, as indicated in Orr & Torrey, A1.b.

Inscribed on the front free endpaper by Harrison to William Eastlake, a noted novelist of the American Southwest, and a close friend of Harrison's. A nice association.
