Description:
Washington, D.C.: The Associated Publishers, Inc, 1935. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine/Very good. Signed by Gertrude Parthenia McBrown and Lois Mailou Jones on the second half-title. The author's first book of poetry, a collaboration with acclaimed African American painter Lois Mailou Jones (1905-98). Though their careers lasted well beyond the 1930s, both women are often associated with the Harlem Renaissance. Octavo: x, 73 p. Original red cloth binding, with a printed paper title label on the front panel. Light rubbing to the corners and tips. The pictorial dust jacket is a little toned, more so along the spine and folds, with some minor edgewear, including a pair of tears to the bottom of the front panel; otherwise very good. Quite scarce.
