New York: Stringer& Townsend, 1851. Book. Very Good. Cloth. 1st Edition. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Red embossed cloth ( front and back ) with gilt lettering to the front. This copy is VG. Exterior is rich. Gilt is bright. Spine has about 1/2" missing at top and has been professionally repaired mid spine. Edges and tips modestly/moderately worn. Inside has neat PO signature on FFEP dated 1854 and a small address label of Harold Meloy, Shelbyville, In., ( noted Mammoth Cave historian and author of "The Mummies of Mammoth Cave" ) on the top front paste down. 10 B&W illustrations, including frontispiece. Scattered foxing.SCARCE and with a nice provenance..
