1975. Photo. Illus. by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Très bon. Aucune reliure. Dédicacé par l'auteur. 30,5 x 40,5 cm (feuille), 24,5 x 36 cm (image). Photo de 1932, tirage gélatino-argentique postérieur d'après contretype sur papier semi-mat à grain perlé circa 1975. Amicale dédicace autographe signée de Henri Cartier-Bresson à l'illustrateur Jean-Michel Folon et à son épouse, la galeriste Paola Folon-Ghiringhelli. A noter que, comme le précise le photographe dans sa dédicace, il s'agit d'un contretype, le négatif ayant été perdu pendant la deuxième guerre mondiale. Tous les tirages de ce cliché célèbre faits après guerre sont faits d'après un contretype, même si Cartier-Bresson ne le précise pas toujours. Ce tirage fut probablement donné à Folon en remerciement d'une tribune publiée par ce dernier dans "Le Monde" en 1974 pour prendre sa défense suite à la polémique suscitée par Cartier-Bresson dans une interview au même journal, où il affirmait : "la photo ne veut rien dire, elle ne dit rien, elle ne prouve rien". Cette photographie est reproduite dans la plupart des livres consacrés au photographe, parmi lesquels GALASSI "Henri Cartier-Bresson : premières images" (p. 63), BNF "De qui s'agit-il" (n° 28), DELPIRE "Henri Cartier-Bresson photographe" (n° 66), MONTIER "L'Art sans art d'Henri Cartier-Bresson" (n° 186) et CARTIER-BRESSON & MONTIER "Revoir Henri Cartier-Bresson" (nn° 50-51 : tirage d'avant-guerre annoté par le photographe). All produced by the Keystone View Company, appearing to come from two different boxed sets. No date is printed. Two in color come from one set and the other in black and white is from a different set. All are mounted on grey boards with black lettering. All are in good condition with a large curve to the mounts and slight wear to edges. Images are crisp. The two color photos are titled "Lobby at Zion Lodge Center, Zion Nat. Park, Utah" (UP 29448) and "Cedar Breaks Pavilion, Cedar Breaks, Utah" (UP 29453). The image in black and white is titled "The Lodge at Bryce Canyon, Utah" (29044). .
