Olive May is depicted at full length against a country background. She is wearing a long flowing dress with a fur cape draped over her shoulders.
Olive May [1886-1947] was a Gaiety Girl who twice married into the British peerage. Though a popular actor, she retired from the stage in 1912, marrying Sir Victor Paget the following year. During the first World War she served as a Red Cross nurse for Britain. She divorced Sir Victor in 1921, marrying the 10th Earl of Drogheda in 1922.
