Evanston: Northwestern University, 1942. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good+. Large 8vo. [4], vii-xv, [3], 3-717, [3] pp. Navy cloth with gold lettering on the front board and spine. Price of $4.00 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Illustrated with a frontispiece and with a double-sided plate. Edited by Paul Arthur Schilpp. Part of the Library of Living Philosophers series. G.E. Moore made important contributions to metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics and is one of the pre-eminent figures in early anaytic philosophy. This volume contains nineteen pieces from European and American men and women philosophers who write thoughtfully on Moore's work and its impact. Moore's responses to his critics are contained at the end of the volume. With a name stamp on the title page and the pastedowns, minor foxing to the leaves; jacket has notable edge wear including a long split to its rear fold.
