About This Item
Philadelphia: David McKay, Publisher, 1902. Hardcover. 12mo. Tan cloth with dark green, red and white front board lettering and pictorial stamping. ii, 288pp, (28pp ads). Good plus. Rather edgeworn (mainly at spine head and tail) and lightly age toned and soiled; endpapers are expert, discreet modern replacements. A tight and decent early printing of the first title in the "Circus Series" (title page notes second series title, thus presumably not a first edition). Fun front board graphic shows an elephant in profile standing atop a tiny platform, a clown peeking out from between the animal's legs; along the top appears a vast white tent with many flags flying.
