The Hague (Netherlands): Martinus Nijhoff, 1960., 1960.. Very good. - Octavo, blue cloth titled in gilt on the spines. The spines & their gilt titling are faded. The bottom corner of the front cover of Vol. 2 is creased. xxxii & pages [1]-391; and ix, [1] leaf & pages [395]-735. Vol. 1 is illustrated with black-and-white plates, Vol 2 with 2 tables. There is a previous owner's blind stamp on the front endpaper of each volume. Together with Supplement to the Second Edition: Octavo, softcover bound in printed gray wrappers. xxxvi & pages [737]-765. There is a light crease to the bottom edge of each wrap & each page & the top corners of the pages are lightly bumped. Very good.
First edition.
The supplement to the second edition published in 1965 contained corrections and additions to the first edition and could be purchased separately by owners of the first edition.
