Paperback large quarto, good plus condition, glossy card cover, black & white text-photos (plates), black & white & single-colour maps, bottom corner front cover very creased (slightly affects first several pages), spine & fore-edge strip cover faded, some edgewear. 131 pp. Ray Binns and Isabel McBryde provide a geological study of ground-edge axes used by Australian Aborigines with the purpose of identifying their mineral composition and origin. (No 47 in the 'Australian Aboriginal Studies Series', from the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies. An earlier version is published in 1969 in the academic journal 'Proceedings of the Prehistoric Society', volume 35.).
