Doubleday Doran, 1937. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good -. First American edition. Same publishing date on both title page and on copyright page. A Very Good Plus volume. Blue spine is bright unfaded. Interior is clean, no markings. Front blank end-paper has two diagonal corner creases and both front and rear interior hinges are showing webbing - still a very tight text block. Dust jacket is in near Very Good condition with clipped front flap, BUT price of $3.00 still present. Only minor chips to spines foot and crown paper; minor foxing to flap folds. A fascinating dual 'memoir' of the authors grandmother and her mother. Vita Sackville-West was the creator /designer of the famed gardens of Sissinghurst Castle, in Kent England. She was also one of the lovers of Virginia Woolf who wrote "Orlando" for her (Vita.) 309 pages. Mylar protected jacket.
