Two items; (4) pages, the first item, giving history and purpose of the Council, which included "...in harmony with the principles outlined by New Russia...to work for the repeal of the conscription laws..." representation on the council, and ostensible plan of action, noting that the Council '...wil be a "people's power" body in constant operation. It will be a clearing house for the democratic forces of the country..." with a form for joining, requests for contribution & names of additional supporters, approx. 6" x 9" size; the "Resolutions" a smaller size folding pamphlet, 3 1/2" x 8 1/2", 8 pages, stapled at side, with various statements of policy on peace, conscription, American liberties in general, demanding transparency in diplomacy and a cessation of censorship, fixed prices on living materials, more; with an Application Blank for enrollment; both with the Allied Printing Trades Council seal, New York; the larger item with some edgewear and soiling; both in very good condition overall, interesting pre-WW I peace movement history, allying itself with the aims of the newly-formed Communist government in Russia and all before the U.S. involvement in the European war..
