Hardback book is tight clean and square. Boards sharp and clean, title gilt perfect. Text block clean, with toning to edges, and slightly dusty top edge. Feels lightly read. Minor bump to head and foot of spine, booksellers pencil price to FEP, near fine condition. Jacket some general minor toning and edge wear, chipping with minor losses to spine ends, light crease to spine. Rear white panel sl. toned but clean. Small closed tear to upper fore edge. Overall solid very good condition. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a quality addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A collection of four novels, three of which are pretty much standing the test of time in American literature, and the other of which looks like a delightful read to cleanse the literary palate (that would be this movie tie-in edition of 'Peabody's Mermaid,' a story that sees a man catch a mermaid, which results in such cutting, pertinent questions as "How does his wife take it?" and "How does a captive mermaid behave?"). A couple of titles have a few condition issues, but neither pages nor words are falling out of any of them, so they all have good reads left in them -- but it wouldn't hurt to handle them with care, anyway, since being vintage paperbacks, these have already gone through a couple of wars, and would probably appreciate gentle handling during another read. Sorry, but no substitutions of titles..
