Bement, Chicago mining and mechanical engineer, to Baird Halberstadt, with rubber stamp of his name and ink inscription from Bement "the author" on front blank, letter giving Halberstadt credit for table of coal measures of a portion of the Appalachian coal field; gilt lettering on front cover lightly rubbed; binding sound, maps and text quite clean, very few marginial edge tears repaired with archival tape; numerous drawings illustrating text, a few text notations in pencil; a clean, sound, complete copy of a rare atlas.
