The catalogue for an exhibition of work by Paul-Emile Miot, held in Paris at the Galerie Michele Chomette, and consisting of a printed portfolio with two card-stock inserts. The first is 6 pages, accordion-fold, featuring a chronology and biography of Miot's life as a mariner and photographer and a bibliography. The second piece has two parts: one 4 pages, the other accordion-fold with 6 pages, nestled together. The second item is titled "Terre-Neuve 1857-1859" and contains an essay on Miot's trip to Newfoundland and reproductions of images from an album he produced. Miot (1827-1900) was a French naval officer who took up photography as a means of documenting his explorations of the world. Photographs by Paul-Emile Miot; texts by Michele Chomette and Pierre Marc Richard. 16 pages; 20 sepia-toned b&w photographic reproductions; 8 x 11 inches. Text in English and French. Additionally, LAID IN is a flyer from the gallery for a New York Armory show, listing the photographers the gallery carries, a photocopy of the Terre-Neuve essay, and an illustrated, 4-page card-stock brochure for a 2008 Paris exhibition of work by Miot.
