Fine cloth-bound hardcover with a International Center of Photography Resource Center bookplate to the front paste down (bookplate lightly stamped "withdrawn") and no other marks or notations in a Near Fine dust jacket with a touch of shelf wear. Photographs by Izis Biedermanas. 171 pages; 8 color and 73 b&w full-page, gravure-printed plates; 8.75 x 11.25 inches. SIGNED BY IZIS on the half title; no inscription. Street scenes of Paris with texts by various French poets, reproduced in facsimile in French and typeset in English alongside. The bookplate identifies this copy as having been donated to ICP by "J. Deschin." Jacob Deschin was a well-respected writer on photography who at various times in his long career wrote for Popular Photography--beginning with its first issue in 1937,--Scientific American and Popular Mechanics. He was also the camera editor of The New York Times and the author of many books. Overseas sales and expedited shipping will require extra postage for this volume.
