Paris: the bi-monthly, 1891. Magazine. Unbroken run for the year, in good shape. Paperbound magazines in 13x9.5 inch color wraps (color fashion studies front cover, back cover intermittantly the same (back-cover fashion plates alternate with sewing patterns), some spot color within, mostly women's wear with the occasional child on parade. Paperstock of covers and textblock quite toned and a little fragile, spines slightly abraded, but we handled all issues and saw no detachments, nor tears besides quarter-inch nicks to heads or tails of the foldlines. Any signs of handling are quite uniform, suggesting these to be one-owner copies. Very slightly musty, simple dust and particles rather than mildew (of which we saw nothing). Good copies all. A decade or two more modern than Godey's Ladies, still with horridly cinctured waists. OCLC notes (from the BNF holding) that Paris-Mode ran until 1902 when it was "absorbed" by Le Monitor de la Mode, which kept "absorbing" other fashion mags until it itself ceased publication in 1913.
