Description

Beautiful multivolume set of famous French weekly magazine. Illustrations by popular artists of the time such as Rochegrosse, Job, Myrbach, Flameng, Grasset, Chelmonski, Courboin, Renouard.


The number of 45/46 May 1886 is dedicated to Utamaro, which has several lithographs of the famous Japanese painter. A managing editor, Charles Gillot, passionate about art from the Far East, helped to spread in France in the late nineteenth century.

Engravings are in very good condition, well-maintained colors. Some title pages with minor stains.
