The State Historical Society of Iowa, 1949. Withdrawn from the University of Iowa Libraries, this copy has fewer than the normal markings and attachments; there is a stamp at the title page and a bookplate at the front free endpaper, and there are a couple of marks at the lower spine. The binding is square and tight, the brown buckram only very gently rubbed at the corners and showing some light-coloured soil around the lower portions of the front and rear boards.
