Clean pages and bright red leather-textured covers, but covers have a fold toward the top edge and a crease at upper spine. Description:
Grand Forks ND: Author/Holt Printing Co., 1926. Anecdotes and history of these Victorian staples, and their origins in Kashmir; the author, od Scottish descent, visited weavers there in the early 20th century whom he had known in his childhood some 50 years earlier. INSCRIBED by the author to a friend; these were evidently privately printed as gifts. Laid in are four printed Christmas notes, each with a poem in Scots dialect by the Doctor, dated 1924, 1926, 1927, and 1932, along with a hand-written poem on a calling card dated 1919, and a small sprig of browned heather with another handwitten verse. Small hardcover, red cloth spine over terra-cotta boards, black titling. General wear to book, corners rubbed, minor smudging, minor damage in gutters with a couple of insignificant gaps; laid-in paper ephemera tanned & smudged, calling card with big ink spot. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 5¼" by 7¾".
