Lipsiae/Leipzig: Sumtibus Frid. Christ. Guil. Vogelii, 1828. Volume I, published in 1828, is entitled Heroides, Amores, Ars Amatoria, Medicamina Faciei et Remedia Amoris; Volume II, published in two parts in 1832, contains Ovid's narrative poem Metamorphoses. In a contemporary binding of polished calf over marbled boards, raised bands, gilt spine lettering. Leather is worn to the corners and boards rubbed; the binding of volume I is cracked and the lower cover detached, but the other two books are firmly bound and very good. Spotting to the end papers and title pages, the text is bright and crisp. Ownership inscription dated 1875 of Francis Pierrepont Barnard, Hon fellow of Pembroke College, Oxford, along with his armorial bookplate. Extra shipping charges may apply to this set. Good plus 1828
