New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1935. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Green checkered cloth with paper spine label. 240pp. Very good. Endpapers a tad age toned, else tight, bright and nice. First edition of this novel about a newlywed adjusting to in-laws in a Lake Shore Drive apartment, boldly signed and inscribed by the author in black ink on front flyleaf: "For Kitty with love, / Dorothy." Aldis (1896-1966), nicknamed "The Poet Laureate of Young Children," is a Chicago author mainly remembered for her volumes of children's poetry; this was her second foray into fiction. Surprisingly uncommon.
