The text is illustrated with black-and-white motoring cartoons by Russell Brockbank. Illustrated boards with red and black coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper, same illustration as the underlying boards, with red and black coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Motoring, in the late 1950s and early 60s, as seen by Russell Brockbank. Softening to the back strip edges and bumping, with underlying board of visible to the book corners. Rubbing to the lower book edges. A few rubs to the book panels and age toning to the text block edges and pages. Some foxing to the text block edges. Offset tanning to the endpapers and original bookseller's rubber stamp to the lower right hand corner of the free front endpaper. Chipping, with loss to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. There is a piece missing from the top left hand corner of the front panel – please see photograph. Some small tears to the dustwrapper edges with creasing. A previous owner has attempted to repair tears with tape – residue still present. Rubbing to the dustwrapper panels and edges with sunning of the back strip. Light foxing to the verso.
