Whitley Bay; Hewitt & Brown, 1927., 1927. Publisher's burgundy red cloth spine on buff paper covered boards. Paper title labels to spine and to upper board, the latter of which has an anvil illustration. Portrait frontispiece of the Author at work. In the rare original dust-jacket which reproduces the image of the Author at work. A scarce volume of poems in the North-East vernacular. Subjects that engage the poet include, drink, pipe smoking and domestic life and marriage all delivered in a down-to-earth humorous style. A Glossary with pronunciation hints to rear aid the reader unfamiliar with the local brogue. COPAC locates 3 copies only, none in the North East. Sporadic foxing mainly to endpapers. Dust-jacket with some loss, particularly to spine and a closed repaired tear to front (repaired internally with archival tape). Scarce, especially so in the dust-jacket.
