About This Item
Copenhagen: Gyldendalske Boghandels Forlag, 1896. Hardcover. 16mo. Blue cloth with gilt lettering and elaborate gilt and dark blue borders. 97pp. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Near fine. A lovely, tight later printing (entirely in Norwegian) of this "national drama" whose titles translates as "Beyond Human Powers" by the Norwegian Nobel Prize winning poet. First published in 1883, Bjornson published a kind of sequel ("Over Aevne. Annet Stykke") in 1895 -- whose publication no doubt prompted the reissue of this earlier work.
