Tucson, Arizona: Loujon Press, 1969. Original wraps. Near Fine/Very Good +. A handsome copy of the 4th and final issue --a double issue--of this highly-influential small press poetry magazine. Published by the formidable Loujon Press (the imprint of John and Gypsy Lou Webb), Outsider #4-#5 is "handset, mostly, & hand bound at Loujon's desert workshop printery, Arizona U.S.A." This issue includes its typical line-up of high-powered contributors (such as Charles Bukowski, Jean Cocteau, Ray Johnson, Henry Miller. etc.) but the centerpiece of the issue is an "Homage to Kenneth Patchen". This copy is tight and Near Fine in a crisp, VG+ dustjacket, which is glued at its front-flap to the book's front pastedown. Quarto, multi-colored endsheets (a trademark of Loujon Press), iconic cover photo of Patchen capturing the poet laying in bed (from which, due to a bad back, he was forced to live out the last years of his life).
