London: William Kimber, 1957. black cloth, hardcover in dust jacket., owner name to verso of rear free endpaper, three fore-edge page margins have little chips or nicks with no loss of text. the dj shows one tape-repair and mostly minor edge or corner wear, some rubbing. the verso of the dj has extensive tape repair or reinforcing. dj is now in a paper-backed mylar protector which is folded-on, for easy removal. this hides the dj verso. no other flaws. book and jacket were carefully cleaned. no text markings. sturdy binding. dj price intact on flap.; 204pp., translated from german original. edited by hermann meyer. the book is taken from the letters sent home by pabst, a signals nco in army group center while serving in russia from the 1941 invasion through his death in autumn of 1943.; can be scarce with dj, even as-is.. First English Language Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good Minus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
