The text is recto only and the back cover is cardboard. No editing in the text  This is a tall, narrow book. 113 leaves.Front cover mildly soiled and worn. The first blank page has the name J. Wibberley written in hand.  Following the half title page is a copyright page which has, written in pencil, the date Sept. 21 and a price of $2.00. No other writing. Synopsis

Out Of the Silent Planet is the first novel of C.S. Lewis's classic science fiction trilogy. Dr Ransom, a Cambridge academic, is abducted and led to a spaceship to the red planet of Malacandra, which he knows as Mars. His captors plot to plunder the planet's treasures and to offer Ransom as a sacrifice to the creatures that reside there. Ransom discovers he has come from the 'silent planet', Earth, a tragic story that is known throughout the universe.
