Contains twenty four of Clarke's stories, written between 1947-1957. The work was first published in the US in 1958. Arthur C. Clarke was a British science fiction writer and inventor, who is widely regarded as a key figure in the popularisation of space travel. His screenplay for the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was co-written with Stanley Kubrick, is considered to be one of the most influential films of all time. For many years Arthur C. Clarke, along with Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asmiov, were considered the 'Big Three' of science fiction writing. This collection of his works contains a number of Clarke's well known stories, including The Nine Billion Names of God, which was later the title for another collection of his short stories published in 1967. Condition: In a red cloth binding in the original price-clipped dustwrapper. Externally in lovely condition. Dustwrapper is price clipped with some slight shelfwear to the extremties. Light handling marks to the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Overall Condition: Fine in a Near Fine dustwrapper.
