Curtis, introduction by author, appendix and index. The text is illustrated with 83 colour and black-and-white photographs. Pink coloured cloth covered boards with dark red coloured insert to the backstrip and within that insert gilt coloured titles. Colour photographic dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. "This book explodes the popular fallacy purporting Orchids to be difficult to grow and that, as a hobby, this fascinating pastime should only be indulged in by the wealthy. The Author is purely amateur Orchid grower, with over 20 years' experience behind him." – from the front fold over panel blurb. Dealing with the construction of a greenhouse (a book aimed at the English orchid grower), various Orchid varieties and growing conditions needed for the successful orchid grower. Softening and fading to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and rubbing to the lower book edges. Browning to the textblock edges and age toning of the pages. Offset tanning and a few faint foxing spots to the endpapers with original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the head into the heel of the backstrip. Creasing to the top dustwrapper edge and rubbing to the dustwrapper panels.
