Pages are unmarked and barely aged. Some loose pages are creased. All color plates have been removed. Marbled cover is worn at edges and generally scuffed, with lower back corner torn. Green half-calf is also worn. Gold embossing on spine is faded, but not too badly, and title still legible. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; , support a local bookstore in Minneapolis! .

London: Wm. S. Orr & Co, 1839. 1st. Full-Leather. Collectible; Very Good. The 1839 1st edition of this lovely study of fruit trees of the orchard. Including 18 beautiful full-page, hand-colored plates. 1 plate at the frontispiece, 1 a "vignette in title" and the remaining 16 complementing the text. (All 18 of the plates also include their original tissue guards.) Bound in a full dark-blue leather, with 6 fine-tooled compartments, gilt-lettered spine label and gilt-ruled panels. Solid and VG, with light scuffing to the panels and very light wear along the panel edges. Thick 12mo, all edges gilt. Tasteful former owner bookplate at the front pastedown.
