"No one heals himself by wounding another."

― Ambrose of Milan

Saint Ambrose, Bishop of Milan, is the most important ecclesiastical father of the 4th-century and has continually been an influence both in Milan and throughout the Western world even though he has been associated with persecutions of non-Christians.

Ambrose's works were primarily exegetical in nature, discussing a wide variety of topics relating to the church and theology. He wrote on faith, offices of the church, the Holy Trinity and its mysteries, the virgin Mary, miracles, Creation, ethics, funeral processions, hymns, letters, and commentary on New Testament Gospels.

This 1614 edition was published in Paris by Grand Navire and is complete five volumes in two large tomes. This set is considered to be exceedingly rare – a scarce printing of the works of Ambrose.
