About This Item
Chicago: Abraham Lincoln Book Shop, 1943. Paperback. Small 4to. Stiff brown wrappers. 15pp. Near fine. First separate printing, limited to 250 copies. When South Carolina poet Archibald Rutledge attacked Lincoln and "the idiotic sentence [in the Declaration of Independence] that all men are created equal," Basler came to the defense in this "South Atlantic Quarterly" piece (January 1943 issue).
