Brown faux ornately decorated covers with a picture of ' The Cowboy' painted by Frederic Remington, which has been pasted on post reduction. Gilt titles to the backstrip along with four raised bands to the top edge and lower edge of the backstrip. Rubbing to the book corners. Light browning and foxing to the text block edges. A history of the American cowboy, from the earliest cowboy, the Californian vaquero, up to the large cattle barons and their large workforce of ranch hands/cowboys. Part of The Old West series.
