Shakespeare Head Press, London 1948 (first printed in 1942). 21.5 x 13.5cms, 108ppm, b/w illusts, very good hardback (no dustwrapper as issued). Mort wrote this book for Australian boys and girls, presenting architecture as the mother of the arts, 'bringing them forth, nourishing and protecting them: it shows it as a bridge linking the past and the future...' It end with a brief chapter on 'The Australian Prospect', with Sydney's AWA building, the Archibald Fountain and Anzac Memorial as the apogees.
