When these book were issued in 2004, they were quickly sold out and most users did not save the box which has an important pastedown which is a helpful guide to the set. Volume I features descriptions and rare photographs of houses and plantations, many of which have not survived. Some included at Ormond, Tezcuco, Evergreen, Waverly and Melrose plantations (381 pages, plus index) Also at the end of volume I there are unnumbered pages of two suggested tours of the great plantation homes. Volume II traces the history of several important families and numerous portraits, coats of arms, and archival photographs. Among the families discussed are La Frenier, Parlange, Butler, Percy, Kenner, Semmes, De Marigny, Beauregard, Prudhomme, Wilkinson, and Stewart (256 pages, plus index).Here in a boxed set in fine condition bound i n blue cloth lettered in red with no wear on either the volumes or the box.
