Contains 62 traditional fairy tales, many obscure, many retellings of similar tales found in other cultures (Cinderella). Epilogue & commentaries in rear provide valuable insight into each story & its place in Estonian lore & culture. In 360 pages, with sparse but beautiful two-page watercolor illustrations scattered throughout text. Hardcover book with beige linen-covered boards is wonderfully clean, binding straight & strong, pages white, colors bright. NO foxing. NO writing/underlining/highlighting; NOT ex-lib. DJ is similarly beautiful: colorful & bright, NO fading. FLAW causing downgrade to VG from Fine: evidence of gnawing by a creature along top edge at spine, through both book & DJ & protective mylar. Same nibbling to bottom edges of both boards, book only (DJ is fine here).So not perfect, but still lovely, & quite scarce!
