Cassell and Company Limited. Good. 224 pp., Illustrated with numerous b/w plates throughout. Gilt embossed lettering to the front board and spine and upper edges gilt. There is a 1 cm and a 0.5 split to the head of the spine with associated rubbing. Rubbing to the tail of the spine with slight fraying of the cloth. The spine is slightly sunned and there are a few faint soil marks to it. Previous owners bookplate to the front paste down. Light foxing to the end papers and lightly scattered to a few pages. Otherwise clean and tight, being a good copy of this reference book.

Malcolm Charles Salaman [ 1855 - 1940 ] English author, journalist and critic, with his critical writing devoted chiefly to prints. From 1883 to 1894 he was dramatic and art critic for the Sunday Times & he wrote regularly on prints for the art magazines The Studio and Apollo.
