Pale blue coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with black and pale brown coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear dustwrapper panel. These stories were first published in Yiddish in the late 19th century. They deal with a world that no longer exists except between the covers of Sholom Aleichem 's works and such plays as "Fiddler On the Roof" (which incidentally was based upon the stories within this book). Bumping to the backstrip corners and rubbing to the book corners. Light browning to the text block edges and internal text. Light handling marks to the endpapers. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. Rubbing to the dustwrapper panels and browning is also present to the rear dustwrapper panel. There is a 0.5 " tear to the lower left-hand corner of the backstrip with associated creasing. Some creasing to the fold over panels. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. (6), VII - XII (2) 434 pages,.
