Venice, CA: Feral House, 1998. Paperback. xviii, 509p., photoillustration and documents in facsimile; first edition 9x6 inch color photo wraps, very good condition. Introductory handbill laid in. Hoffman's is the most comprehensive dissenting discussion of this particular mass murder. There is extensive account of eyewitness reports by survivors, passersby, law enforcement and media, with emphasis on material that doesn't fit the necessarily exclusive authorized story. Includes testimony by various explosives experts including the guy who invented the neutron bomb, Samuel Cohen ("impossible and against the laws of nature for a truck full of fertilizer and fuel oil.."), and of course General Parton; infiltrators (of southwest US muslim and rightist "patriot" undergrounds); and various deep throats from intelligence and paramilitary communities. Hoffman adduces conspiracy parallels to make his points (in comprehensible precis, to give him his due) but which greatly add to the length of the book, to its detriment. Further confusing (to this reader) is his reliance on left and right source materials; he'll use intelligence-friendly data along with skeptical criticism. The muslim stuff and most of the patriot-cell stuff went over my head.
Previously banned, now it is no longer a "banned book," that is it could be reprinted without fear of Feds. Turns out it was the publisher who caved and pulped the run, but when the angry author brought his own suit against the FBI, the judge dismissed the Bureau's argument as without merit.
