This work is the masterpiece of Boucher as illustrator and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful books realized in the first part of the 17th century. This edition of Moliere features in The British Library publication A History of the Book in 100 Books. This volume contains La Princesse D'Eldide Les Fetes de Versailles Le Mariage Force Le Mariage Force ballet du Roi Le festin de Pierre L'armour Medicin Le Misantrope Please view the many images to get an idea of some of the many plates and etchings, wide margin layout and artistic lettering to name just a few of the specialities within this book, these are but a few within the 442 pages. volume 3 only - original contemporary full calf leather gilt binding now shows slight edge and corner wear with some rubbing - wear with loss to the head and foot of the spine - boards are rubbed with some light surface scratches - contents are clean fresh and tight with some light off setting from the plates. Heavy tanning to one of the first blank pages, very good to near fine after. Please view the photographs for more information.
