Description:
Pan. Paperback. 188pp. A lovely clean copy of this first edition vintage Pan crime paperback. Classic Pan cover by Graham R. Barkley - Colin Larkin in Cover Art his appraisal of Pan 's commercial artists assess this as Barkley's best cover for the firm. The dramatic over art shows an alarmed woman in a beautiful green evening dress half rising because of a smoking man, relaxed with crossed crossed, whose identity is hidden with his head behind the titles, as other characters in the club are unaware of the tense scene playing out. A complete, tight and square copy. Hint of fading to the spine and hint of rubbing to edges. Pages are tanned as always with Pan paperbacks. Much less wear than is typical with Pan. Very good copy . Paperback. First Paperback Edition. 1954.
