New York: Macmillan Company, The Museum of Natural History, (1936).. Bindings of both volumes show general edgewear. Titles on spines are faded. Both are internally Clean and Tight. All four pamphlets have a previous owners' name, date and "from the Robert Cushman Murphy Collection" written in ink on either the front page or inside the front page (not affecting text). All four show some wear, but are in good condition. . INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR. Two Volumes bound in green cloth. 4to. "Illustrated from paintings by Francis L. Jaques photographs, maps, and other drawings." Volume one has the author's bookplate pasted to the inside front cover. First volume contains pages [i-xx] 1-640 plus six full-page color illustrations and b/w plates 1-38. Second Volume has a presentation from the author; "To Nate Potter and his Seafaring Lady. Robert Cushman Murphy." Volume Two icontains pages [i-vii] 641-1,245 plus ten full-page color illustrations and b/w plates 39-72. Three pamphlets by R.C. Murphy laid-in: "Oceanic birds", "Environmental Control, Ecological Divergence and Physiological Rhythm Among Oceanic Birds", and "Robert Ferryman, Forgotten Naturalist". One pamphlet; "Techniques in Bird Illustration" by Don Richard Eckelberry laid-in as well.

Limited to 1200 numbered copies. Antarctic birds. The author spent two years on South Georgia also collecting and cataloguing ornithological specimens for the Natural history museum while Brewster and Sanford spent 5 years in the southern hemisphere.
