FINDLEY, William. Observations on "The Two Sons of Oil"... Containing a Vindication of the American Constitutions, and Defending the Blessings of Religious Liberty and Toleration.... Pittsburgh, 1812. 1st ed. 336pp. plus errata. Orig. calf-backed marbled boards. Near fine. Howes F-134. Findley came to America in 1763 and later served in the Revolution. After the Revolution he settled near Latrobe, Pa., and became an active anti-Federalist. He also helped settle the Whiskey Insurrection of 1794. Later he served in the Pennsylvania Senate from 1799-1803.
