Each page contains several photographs. -- Sections include: agriculture; military; protection of mothers and children; training youth in Fascist principles; after-work recreation; aviation, maritime, roads, bridges, housing; section for each city; "autarchy" or economic self-sufficiency, producing its own raw materials; Il Duce as beloved of the people, "God's appointed messenger." -- At the rear are ads from American industries supporting Italy's superior products (many advertisers are in Pennsylvania). -- Hardcover, approximately 500 pages, 12xz17 inches. Condition: good (pages are clean and bright, but cover and text edges are quite worn, spine cloth is torn, but binding remains firm; ownership note on blank page; one photo is cut from ads). -- This book is a rare and complete official picture of Fascist Italy in 1939. An excellent first-hand companion to the 2019 television series on dictators, and a detailed example of fascist propaganda.
