Toronto: Ryerson Press, 1945. 56pp. Green paper covered boards are moderately soiled. Black title on cover and spine. Corners are bumped. Spine end bumped. Printed dust jacket; browning to spine and edges. Previous owners signature in ink to ffep. Light foxing to front paste down and fep, otherwise contents are clean and bright. This being a collection of war poems from the author who was formerly an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Toronto, Birney left his post to serve as Personnel Officer during World War II. He later went on to establish the first Creative Writing programme in Canada at the University of British Columbia. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Very Good/Near Very Good.
