At this point the AIDS epidemic was still being called by several names including Gay Cancer, GRIDS, etc. and Kaposi's Sarcoma and AIDS were as yet not absolutely linked. Ortleb would become a major AIDS denier. Early study of gays and mysteries which the late Drewey Wayne Gunn made a brilliant and thorough study of resulting in several bibliographies.
