Sewn end-bands, and speckled edges to text-block; plain endpapers. No half-title present, nor enumerated in pagination. Two hand-coloured plates, of three called for (one, the Anatolian Greek, lacking); two engravings (including a fold-out view of Theodocia/Kaffa). The first edition. 8vo. viii,316pp. Some scattered foxing and staining. Otherwise internally very neat, bright and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome copy. .
