Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1908. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Tan cloth with black lettering and black, green and ivory pictorial and decorative stamping. 273pp. Tissue-guarded frontispiece, 7 called-for full-page plates. Very good. Mild edgewear, with spine faintly rubbed. Tight, nice first edition of the third title in the "St. Timothy's" series begun in 1904 and continuing through at least 1930. Pier (1874-1966) served on the editorial staff of "Youth's Companion," where many of his stories were first published before appearing in hardbound form.
